Exactly 5 years ago today, the then Augsburg Social Affairs Officer Stefan Kiefer, TU Munich Professor Dr. Helmut Krcmar as well as those responsible from Tür an Tür officially presented the Integreat-App in and for the city of Augsburg. A lot has happened since 2015. In addition to the city of Augsburg, we now work together with 70 other municipalities. Only the goal has not changed: We want to make it easier for people to arrive in a new region.
Over half a million people accessed Integreat last year. Since the start of Corona in Germany, the number of accesses has more than doubled. We help local authorities to communicate the regional Corona measures quickly and easily in several languages. The access figures show us that we are very successful in this.
In 2015 Integreat was launched. Computer science students, the Augsburg-based Tür an Tür e. V. and the TU Munich wanted to help quickly. They wanted to help reduce bureaucratic hurdles and provide equal opportunities for all. In the meantime, 15 full-time staff and a further 20 volunteers are working on continuous further development.
