We are delighted to share some special news: our co-founder Daniel Kehne, who has been our project coordinator for many years, was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany yesterday<\/strong>. At Bellevue Palace, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier paid tribute to the long-standing commitment Daniel Kehne has shown since 2015 through the Integreat app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the Federal Order of Merit is a personal honour, it highlights just how relevant digital integration services \u2013 which can be updated locally \u2013 are today, and the contribution that many stakeholders in cities, districts and local authorities make on a daily basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the motto \u2018Germany in the World\u2019, a further 11 women and 8 men were awarded the Federal Republic\u2019s highest honour. Integreat in the spotlight: Digital Support for Integration at a Local Level<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Over the past few years, Integreat<\/a> has developed into a platform that helps towns and districts provide reliable guidance for new arrivals. Today, over 120 towns and districts use Integreat to make information accessible locally, in real time and in multiple languages \u2013 ranging from initial orientation and advice and language courses to information on everyday life and crisis situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Particularly during challenging periods such as the COVID-19 pandemic or in the wake of the war in Ukraine, it has become clear just how important it is to have a flexible digital service that can be adapted quickly and reliably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I am delighted to receive this award. It represents many years of work on a topic that has been close to my heart for a long time. When I think back to how we started out back then as a small group of just a few people, and how Integreat has grown today to work alongside so many towns and districts, it fills me with gratitude and also makes me feel a little proud. Feedback from users remains particularly valuable to me to this day. People who have told us that, thanks to Integreat, they\u2019ve been able to find their way around more quickly \u2013 especially in those often hectic crisis situations where information needs to be communicated very quickly. It\u2019s precisely for these very specific moments that the work is worthwhile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

None of this would be possible without our team. Over the years, many colleagues have poured an incredible amount of passion, time and expertise into Integreat, and every day they help to ensure that the platform runs reliably and continues to grow. This commitment is one of the main reasons why Integreat is where it is today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And we\u2019re far from finished. There\u2019s huge potential for further developing the platform to provide more efficient guidance and referral services, and for making our collaboration with our partner local authorities even simpler and more effective.
